Seeking Tolland’s oldest residents for the Sept. 19 parade

The Tolland Senior Center is teaming up with The Country Butcher to have a float in the Sept. 19 Tolland 300th Anniversary parade that will feature the town’s oldest residents.

The residents would ride on a float provided by the company owned by Steve Boyer.

Anyone who would like to be included and who believes they are among Tolland’s oldest residents should contact Senior Center Director Fran Weigand at 860-870-3725 or fweigand@tolland.org by Sept. 4.

The parade begins at 1 P.M. at Tolland Intermediate School and traverses 8/10 of a mile along the historic Tolland Green, ending at the new Tolland Founders Monument at Dunn Hill and Old Stafford roads. It will be followed by Celebrate Tolland and the Tolland 300th community picnic from 3 P.M. to 8 P.M. at Tolland Middle School.

For more information on the parade or picnic, visit Tolland300.org or like the Tolland 300th Facebook page.
